A Setting for Soul Searching and Sweeping Landscapes

There is something distinctively spiritual about the desert. It offers vast landscapes that span as far as the eye can see and quiet solitude surrounded by giant cacti and whispering twilight winds. With so much to offer, it’s no wonder many travellers have made it a major ‘must-see’ on their list of travel desires.

Sedona, Arizona, one of North America’s most breath-taking and spiritual destinations, offers this exact experience, blending soulful introspection and visually stunning outdoor desert activities into one unforgettable trip. Where to stay Arizona

L’Auberge de Sedona

We love this luxury resort, set right on the banks of Oak Creek. With a focus on healing, relaxation and wellness, it is an oasis that allows guest to reconnect with nature, friends and family through the many activities it offers. We also love that it practices sustainability and care for the environment. For instance, the hotel recently fitted its property with Tesla recharging stations, and its Four-Diamond gourmet French restaurant uses locally-sourced ingredients.

What’s also impressive is the resort’s attention to detail. For instance, its luxury cottages and lodge-style guest rooms ensure that individuals truly feel immersed in nature, with all interior details taking inspiration from Oak Creek and Sedona’s red rock vistas. Many of the cottages also have direct access to the creek, and guests will find rich greenery, open viewing areas and outdoor access to amazing sights everywhere. There is also a subtle quaintness and charm within, whether it’s through the cottages’ cosy fireplaces, outdoor cedar showers, or simple but elegant interior decorations.

Another aspect we adored was L’Auberge’s close proximity to Sedona’s best activities. It’s just minutes from the Chapel of the Holy Cross—one of Arizona’s most impressive architectural feats, the Sedona Art Centre and numerous hiking trails that take you through the majestic red rocks and towering mountains. The resort itself offers immersive activities too, including stargazing with an astronomer, music and meditation, morning duck feeding and much more.

Amara Resort and Spa

There is so much to enjoy at Amara Resort and Spa—from its location nestled in Uptown Sedona’s hillside, to its modern interpretation of the area’s rich Native American history. For instance, we love its hand-crafted details, like bed headboards made from local fallen trees, and the colourful artworks made by Sedona artisans.

What’s more is the resort’s dedication to the outdoors. Aware of the incredible variety of activities surrounding it, it offers a host of extras and amenities to ensure guests make the most of their stay. For example, they have free mountain bikes for all guests to use, daily yoga classes and yoga mats in every room, a heated-outdoor infinity pool and complimentary shuttle service within a one-mile radius. Considering the number of jaw-dropping hiking trails in the area, the shuttle certainly appeals to those who want to take in all the nature that Sedona has to offer. We also love Amara’s views of Snoopy Rock, its close proximity to Cathedral Rock and its location right in the banks of Oak Creek.

The Hilton Sedona Resort at Bell Rock

The Hilton at Bell Rock is one of our favourite places to stay in Sedona, as it is the area’s only full-service spa and golf resort. The 18-hole, Par-71 golf course is widely hailed as the most captivating course in Sedona, offering excellent golfing amidst unforgettable red rock views. As its name suggests, this Hilton is set right next to the legendary Bell Rock, a tall, deep-red formation that is famously believed to be a spiritual vortex and portal to other dimensions.

What also appealed to us is the resort’s balance between spirituality, sports and pure rest and relaxation.Activity seekers will not only adore the golf course, but the outdoor tennis courts, cascade and lap pools, athletic club and, of course, its close proximity to Bell Rock hiking trails. Those looking for spiritual activities will be impressed by the Hilton’s tours and knowledge on Sedona's paranormal and spiritual background, offering a wide range of ways for individual to get it touch with their soulful side. The resort spa also beckons those who just want to unwind and let their senses take in all the ethereal nature surrounding them with everything from hot stone treatments to sport-related therapies. Catering to every traveller’s desire, this is truly a place that has everything you need.
